Renton Rowing Center is a place for all young people to find acceptance and find their sports team! We believe that all kids deserve a team, and an opportunity to row! Our Juniors program is for athletes grades 7th-12th with some prior experience in rowing. The summer season will consist of single and double sculling and cross training on land.

Summer Season starts June 28th and runs for 6 weeks!

Summer Juniors Practice Time

Monday - Thursday

7:30am - 9:00am

What are we doing during COVID-19?

All rowing on the water is occurring in single boats (set doubles if contracts are signed by families) and land workouts are spaced to give everyone at least 6 feet of space. Juniors will be on the water as much as possible but erg workouts and other land workouts will also be incorporated.

New to Rowing?

We aim to include any youth in the community interested in rowing.Due to COVID-19 our capacity to teach new rowers is limited and we will have to work to develop a plan on an individual basis so please contact the Program Director, Sarah Catto We will have some openings for new rowers for summer season starting June 28th.

Competition?

Due to COVID-19 our juniors do not have any upcoming regattas. We are on the lookout for any opportunities for scrimmages or other activities that would allow our juniors to interact with other clubs while staying safe!

Need support to row?

The George Pocock Rowing Foundation provides need-based youth rowing scholarships at multiple boathouses throughout Seattle and Renton. Scholarship funds are awarded based on financial need AND the participant’s ability to meet attendance and participation expectations. If awarded a scholarship, athletes must:

  • Attend 75% of practices

  • Volunteer 5 hours per season

  • Attend one community event per year

Partial and full scholarships are available. The information you provide will be treated confidentially, and will be used only for eligibility determination.

Funding is limited and awarded on a case by case basis.
