Renton Rowing Center is a place for all young people to find acceptance and find their sports team! We believe that all kids deserve a team, and an opportunity to row! We provide a number of programs based on age and season. Read on to learn about our Youth Programming and our available Need Based Scholarships.
Mon / Tues / Wed / Thurs 4:15 pm - 6:15 pm
The RRC Middle School Rowing Program is a land and water based activity for a student in grades 6-8. Participants will spend time on the water rowing in sweep and sculling boats and time doing land-based fitness exercises and activities to improve core strength, balance, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness. Sign up for 1 day, 2 days, or all. We try to make it work for everyone's schedule.
Monday - Friday 4:00 pm - 6:15 pm
The RRC High School Rowing Team practices on the water in sweep and sculling boats and doing cardiovascular, strength and flexibility conditioning on land. (8th graders may be selected based on performance). Competitions on Saturdays and Sundays.
NEED SUPPORT TO ROW?
The Pocock Foundation provides need-based youth rowing scholarships at multiple boathouses throughout Seattle and Renton.
Scholarship funds are awarded based on financial need AND the participant’s ability to meet attendance and participation expectations. If awarded a scholarship, athletes must:
Attend 75% of practices
Volunteer 5 hours per season
Attend one community event per year
Partial and full scholarships are available. The information you provide will be treated confidentially, and will be used only for eligibility determination.
Funding is limited and awarded on a case by case basis.
